Bluejay Drawings

This was a tough challenge for me but here you go. My attempt at drawing bluejays. My theme is "Autumn" and we had a lot of bluejays in the yard this Fall so I chose them as my subject. The one on the right looks more like a woodpecker, though ;-) My scanner absolutely would not pick up the pencil so I had to take a photo.

An attempt at drawing

Nicely done Nicola. Birds are tough, especially in B&W.

Oh, wonderful drawings - birds are so difficult to do, because they move around so much, aren;t they. I have been known to go to pet stores and sketch them in the cages (talk about a captive audience, LOL!). I bet those feathers are quite irridenscent too. Something to bear in mind if we are allowed to introduce colour later (oops, I have already flunked that one!).

hugs,
Kari x

Colour? LOL. Hopefully we'll be allowed to later as I'd love to see these birds in colour.
I hate drawing animals or birds, extremely difficult so I tend to ignore them altogether! You've done well, Nicola, I'm impressed.
